Musheera dah 6 1/2 months old!

Hi all! dah lama gilerrrrrrrrrr tak update di sini. Bukan malas, bukan tak mahu. Tapi selalu tak ada time :(

Banyak benda nak bagitahu di sini tapi I will try to post one by one ya.

Musheera is 6 1/2 months old yo! Sekarang ni suka merangkak laju-laju, berdiri dengan memegang objek (meja, dinding, mommy or daddy) dengan sebelah tangan and dalam beberapa saat terus jatuh tergolek.

Lagi satu suka melompat-lompat! Kalau berdirikan dia atas riba kita, alamatnya berbisa la peha kita sebab dia lompat dengan semangat dan kuatnya.

Kalau dia baring and tendang perut kita, adus!!!!! sakit woooo.

Adoyai!

Ok, so far nak bagitahu ni sahaja dulu. Informasi mengenai lain, I will inform you in my next posts. Daaaaa.

Alhamdulillah. Suka senyum bila orang tegur dia. Tak malu/takut dengan strangers. Bahaya ni.

Baby Seat

Since Musheera prefers to sit than lying down, it's time to get her own chair.

A chair that's meant for newborns & infants as early as 2 months old
(provided that she/he has a strong neck like Musheera's).

Can't wait to get this! I like green! My favorite color after purple :)

Stainless Steel Feeding bottle.

Definitely, absolutely BPA free :)

Don't they just look good? Better than any other bottles out there.

When baby grows up, the same bottle can be transformed into sippy cups too.

The preparation

A few days before my planned delivery day, I have prepared my hospital bag. Not just mine, but baby's too. Masa nak masukkan barang dalam beg tu, banyak la fikir apa yang kena bawak and apa yang tak perlu. Berapa kali ntah punggah balik beg.

Finally, 10 things I packed for myself:

Antara barang-barang untuk ke hospital.
Ada barang yang tak sesuai untuk tontonan umum.
Sekian.

1. Beg (handy, carries all the stuff)
2. 2 pairs of socks (I wore both, each pair per day)
3. Bras and panties (no comment)
4. 2 pairs of kaftan (I wore one only, masa nak balik. Selamba depan orang ramai pakai kaftan weh!)
5. Kain batik (Tak pakai pun)
6. Night slippers (Avoid being barefoot at any time. It's hospital's floor for goodness!)
7. Flip flops (I wore it in the toilet, sejuk kot lantai dia)
8. A pack of maternity pad (Tak pakai because I use the ones provided by the hospital)
9. Breast pads (Tak pakai because no milk leakage pun)
10. Toiletries (Pakai everything)

In conclusion, I use 7 out 10 things I packed. For future mothers out there, take note of the things you may not need to pack :)

As for the baby's bag, among the things I packed for here are:

Baju, mittens & booties tu dah berjuta kali kena sedut! sedap weh bau baby's detergent!

1. Diapers (satu pun tak pakai, hospital provide and siap bagi free samples untuk bawa balik)
2. 1 Swaddling blanket (pakai masa nak balik. Masa admitted, baby pakai hospital punya)
3. 1 onesie (same as point No.2)
4. 1 night sleepwear (tak pakai)
5. 2 sets of mittens & booties (pakai 1 set masa nak balik)
6. 1 napkin (tak pakai)
7. 2 wash clothes (tak pakai)

Ni lagi la macam buang masa pack barang, banyak tak pakai pun.

Dalam masa tengah prepare the bags, datang seorang abang posmen minta sign surat for package acknowledgement. Siapa pula hantar barang ni? If online shopping, I tak pernah bagi this house's address but my mom's. It's from Astro. They were showing their appreciation for subscribing the children's package. Yeah, we recently switch to it from the discovery package. We all tak tengok sangat the latter. Kalau nak tengok documentary, I always watch it on TV1.

Dapat tigger & pooh's tent and phineas & ferb's cap. Thanks Astro!

Tak sabarnya nak tunggu the arrival of this baby! Awal-awal dah hias her cot.

Baby belum tidur lagi dalam cot ni because I tengah berpantang at my mom's home. Nanti kita balik apartment, baby boleh tidur sini :)

I'm a mom!

As scheduled, I woke up very early on the 1st day of March 2011 for being induced. I performed the regular Subuh prayer and asked Allah to ease my delivery. I can't imagine to what extend the pain will be. Ya Allah, jika Kau tak hilangkan rasa sakit pun, tolonglah ringan sedikit kesakitan itu.

All bags packed and I was ready to go to DEMC, just a few minutes away from mom & dad's home. Mr N helped me to check in at 7.30 a.m. and paid the deposit. FYI, the deposit is RM2000. Then I was brought to the labour room and induced. Dr M inserted the pill in me. Malu lah. "Nanti ada pendarahan sedikit ya". OK doktor. I was told to stay in the room for a few hours and they served me breakfast. I had fried yee mee and warm water. Ada a sachet of milo but I'm not a fan.The food, was ok, for something that has turned cold.

Later, I was brought to my room, No 305. I was monitored by a CTG machine to get contractions reading. Guess what. Lunch was served! Haha. Makan lagi!

Si buncit nak makan lagi. Tengok tu, perut dia macam nak meletup!

By 2 p.m., a nurse came back and took the sheet from the machine and told me that she's bringing to Dr M. When I was taking a loo, Mr N told me that it's time to go to labour room. I was like, what?! Now?! Yes. Dr M finds that there were contractions and she wanted to check for dilation. Turns out I was 3cm. So she broke my water bag. A gush of warm air ketumban went out. She told me that I am doing fine and she expected that I would deliver at night. Then the nurse gave me the hospital's clothes for me to wear and inserted a pill to make me poo. Within seconds, my bowel is emptied. I am sure now that I will not poo during the actual labor. Haha.

Mr N stayed besides me and keep me entertained while waiting for more frequent contractions. By 5.30 p.m. I felt something painful like the one you had during period pain. By minutes the pain became more unbearable. Tak putus-putus baca Surah Al-Anbiyak ayat 87 dan sebut nama Allah. I watched the clock and the time seems to pass by very slow. In my mind, I kept on asking "Kalau nak beranak malam ni, can I stand this pain 'til night?". I continuously prayed for Allah's help. I can't really describe the feeling. But I do feel like I'm dying. Mr N holds my right hand and occasionally guided me with the breathing. The nurse told me that I can inhale some gas, whenever necessary. I was clueless and restless, everytime the contractions came, I inhaled the gas. Guess I inhaled too much, I told the nurse that I feel like vomiting. She replied "Memang macam tu. Kalau hisap banyak terasa macam nak muntah". I told her again, I do want to vomit. But she didn't do anything until I really vomited! She rushed for a pail. Haaaa, tu la. Orang dah kata, orang nak muntah. Dah muntah betul-betul baru cuak. Nasib muntah air je, but with some yellow gassy liquid I usually find when I have gastric. Yeah, they had to change my clothes with a new one.

It's almost 7 p.m., I told Mr N that I think it's time. He called for the nurse and two nurses came in. They attached something like rods beside the bed and told me to put my feet on them. Two handles attached to the bed were for my hands. So instead of lying down, I was delivering in a sitting position. One nurse told me to try and push. I tried and she said yes it's time. Dr M came in and checked that I was 9cm dilated already. Mr N holds my shoulder. I was told to push hard. At times, I didn't realize that I was screaming. The nurse, again and again reminded me not to scream. I felt something came out, Dr M said "Ok, kepala dah keluar. Push lagi. Tarik nafas and push. Good." Terasa pedih pulak. The shoulder part is a bit easier than the head but still hard for me.

Tahu-tahu je baby dah ada on my chest. Crying out loud, some blood all over her. Hilang semua kesakitan. Baby ni keluar from me? Really? Dr M told me to check her gender. Yes, I've been using 'she', of course it's a girl. Alhamdulillah. Then a nurse took her away from me to make check ups on her. I watched the baby while Dr M jahit some stitches on me. Rasa gegar-gegar masa dia jahit. Mr N then recited both azan & iqamat to the baby's ears. I asked, "Pukul berapa?" A nurse understood my question and answered, "7.14 p.m." It is the time my baby was delivered.

I was told to rest in the labour room for 2 hours. So I did.

I was brought back to my room & some of my family members were there. I was too tired to entertain them and I didn't realize when I snoozed off. Zzzzz.....

This baby is mine! (sharing with Mr N)

36th week of pregnancy

From the last pregnancy check up, I gained 4 kilos more in just 2 weeks! Oh no, this is not good. Not just that I'm very heavy now, but this means something's not right. I don't want any insulin shots! I must watch out my consumption at all times. Cut down all those sweet things, I must.

All the sweet things I got from my sister. Yummy yummy. Gone.

Since then, I've been making sandwiches & salads. I bought lots & lots of lettuce. But now, I'm getting tired of them. Ugggh! The last salad I made was egg salad.

Instead of using mayo, I substituted it with butter & olive oil, a little cheddar cheese & even more little of blue cheese. When I say little, I mean very little, less than a teaspoon size of them.

At my 36th week of pregnancy, my baby is still active. Moving & kicking around. I got worried sometimes, kenapalah active sangat ni? Dia tak comfortable ke? There are times when I notice a thud at a time and another thud the next. In the same rhythm. Apa ni? Dia marah kat mommy ke? Lack of attention ke? or something is not right?

As usual, I browsed through the Internet for the answers and found that baby is normally active at this stage. The moving and kicking means there's still a lot of room in the the tummy. Oh, so my baby takda la besar macam apa orang lain kata bila tengok my tummy. Yeah, most people who saw me face-to-face would say that my baby is BIG because my tummy is BIG. I got scared hearing this because I thought if my baby's too big, there's a high possibility that I will have to undergo C-sect! Now that is something I am trying to avoid. I really really want a normal vaginal delivery. Please, don't scare me anymore people.

Oh, and the 'thudding' part, it's the baby's hiccups. Is it good for baby to hiccup at a lot of times, like mine, takes more than 4 times in a day? Expert says it's a sign of a healthy baby! Alhamdulillah. Baby is practicing to breath. Good baby. I love you.

I am currently jobless as the legal firm I did my chambering with, intends to retain me only after I have delivered my baby & finished my confinement. Pandaikan management? Tak nak retain I coz nanti awal2 dah kena bagi maternity leave. So because of this, I postponed filing in my long call papers. What's the point, dah long call but tak boleh kerja lagi. Might as well I do it after my confinement too. Hihi. Emo kan mommy ni? Yes, so what.
